Musical Director for Thames Vale Singers
The Thames Vale Singers are seeking an enthusiastic Musical Director to succeed our current director, Max Fane, who is leaving to further his career as a conductor of music.
Our friendly mixed choir was formed in the 1950s and currently consists of about 50 singers. We rehearse weekly on Tuesdays in Purley between 7.45 and 10.00 pm from September to July. We perform concerts in Spring, Summer and at Christmas in. Our regular accompanist, Peter Bernard, is accomplished on piano, keyboard and church organ.
Our library holds a wide variety of scores and sheet music, which ranges from classical to popular, both sacred and secular. The choir enjoys the challenge of learning new works and pieces.
We are seeking a Musical Director who will encourage us to expand our musical repertoire, improve our quality of sound and bring their own personal style to the choir.
The choir is a registered charity and pays an honorarium to both the Musical Director and Accompanist.
